Many, many, MANY authors have landed agents that way! But submit it to other agents while you're working up different things to send to this agent. That's how I landed my book. That one stung, since I'd passed up an offer of rep from a brand new agent to do the revision for the more experienced one. But I suppose I have a tighter manuscript to keep querying. Hang in there.
