Well, Catalyst releases in less than one month, and I really wish time would slow down a little. I want to enjoy this moment, but I feel like I'm on a fast moving train and I can't get off. I'll reach my destination too soon, and I won't have enjoyed the ride. That's what I'm afraid of. But there's no time to slow down. There's too much to do. I just have to keep moving, keep pace, and try to do the best I can before November 21st hits. Wish me luck?

Lastly, if you live in the Charlotte area, be sure to stop by my release party on Tuesday, November 22nd. I'd love to see you! Details below.
What are your thoughts? Have you ever been so stressed about releasing a debut novel that you've forgotten to enjoy the ride? Did you enter the giveaway? Do you live in the Charlotte area?
Happy Wednesday!
Good luck with everything! Hang in there, and do your best to enjoy as much of it as you can. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteHere's the thing, with a debut novel, everything is new. You're learning a hundred miles a minute, and yes, it's overwhelming because there's always more to do for a book release than is humanly possible. And there's always more you could and "should" be doing. You don't know your limits yet--but are just following the advice of others. Debut novels are insanity, and you'll enjoy the downhill after the release. In the meantime, keep running. Enjoy the snatches of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I'm learning that there's so much that can be done, but I just can't do it all. And that's okay. I have to let some things go.
DeleteJust remember to enjoy it! Yes, there's a ton to do, but your first release should be a joy.
ReplyDeleteBe happy to do a shout out for you when it's released!
Thank you! I think I'll take you up on that. I'll shoot you an email. :)
DeleteI entered your giveaway :) Since I haven't ever had a book coming out, I can't relate. But I hope you can find the time to relax and enjoy the moment!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :)
DeleteEnjoy the launch! I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Elizabeth. I hope it all goes well.
DeleteOoh, love seeing that book launch party announcement-- I cannot believe that it's this month! You are so right about that train. =)
ReplyDeleteI know! It's coming way too fast! I need another 2 months, and then maybe I'd be ready... or not. Lol. :)
DeleteGood luck! It's going to be great. Have fun with it. So says me who stresses with every book release! *LOL*
ReplyDeleteThe first one is a big learning experience. There will always seem like there's more to do and there is, but it will make the next one easier.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right, enjoy it while you're at it! This is a big deal! Congratulations!
IWSG November
Good luck! I find the weeks before release tend to fly by. Try to enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteMost writer's who've released their debut novel know what you're going through. Although, every person handles stress and excitement differently. It's exhilarating, worrisome and I also had a big release party which was fun. I can only imagine what you're going through. Relax and enjoy the ride and the coming weeks. November will fly by. I signed up to help promote your big day!! Wishing you much success and I can't wait to read Catalyst.
ReplyDeleteThank you for signing up! I so appreciate it!! :)
DeleteBreathe in, count to 10. And savour the moment. I know you will do well.
ReplyDeleteYou might "enjoy the ride" more in retrospect. Good luck with the blog tour.
ReplyDeleteAll signed up! How exciting!!! I can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! :)
DeleteDeep breaths and remember you can't do it all. I wish I didn't live on the other side of the state or I would come see you in Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you're in NC too! How awesome!
DeleteGood luck on your book launch. Enjoy!

I wouldn't mind time slowing down either, but that's because I love the fall and don't want it to go away anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteNC is too far away for me to visit, or I would. Why don't they have writers like you up in Michigan?
Good luck with your tour and your release. Catalyst will be a hit!
