November IWSG: A Month of Thanksgiving & Giveaway!

Hello IWSG peeps! I may be a horrible blogger lately, but one thing is certain—I will always try to post on IWSG Wednesday. A big thank you, of course, goes to Alex Cavanaugh for creating this wonderfully supportive group. Also, thank you to our awesome co-hosts for this month: Joylene Nowell Butler, Jen Chandler, Mary Aalgaard, Lisa Buie Collard, Tamara Narayan, Tyrean Martinson, and Christine Rains! It's never too late to join in the fun, and you can do so HERE.

Well, Catalyst releases in less than one month, and I really wish time would slow down a little. I want to enjoy this moment, but I feel like I'm on a fast moving train and I can't get off. I'll reach my destination too soon, and I won't have enjoyed the ride. That's what I'm afraid of. But there's no time to slow down. There's too much to do. I just have to keep moving, keep pace, and try to do the best I can before November 21st hits. Wish me luck?

Speaking of November 21st... it's the RELEASE DAY FOR CATALYST! My publisher is doing a blog tour through Xpresso Book Tours, and I would love your help! There will be guest posts, excerpts, and even an author interview for you to choose from, which will all come to you in an easily formatted post. If you'd like to sign up to help with my book release, click below. Thank you in advance!!

  2. Here's the thing, with a debut novel, everything is new. You're learning a hundred miles a minute, and yes, it's overwhelming because there's always more to do for a book release than is humanly possible. And there's always more you could and "should" be doing. You don't know your limits yet--but are just following the advice of others. Debut novels are insanity, and you'll enjoy the downhill after the release. In the meantime, keep running. Enjoy the snatches of sunshine.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I'm learning that there's so much that can be done, but I just can't do it all. And that's okay. I have to let some things go.

  3. Just remember to enjoy it! Yes, there's a ton to do, but your first release should be a joy.

  8. The first one is a big learning experience. There will always seem like there's more to do and there is, but it will make the next one easier.

And you're right, enjoy it while you're at it! This is a big deal! Congratulations!

  10. Most writer's who've released their debut novel know what you're going through. Although, every person handles stress and excitement differently. It's exhilarating, worrisome and I also had a big release party which was fun. I can only imagine what you're going through. Relax and enjoy the ride and the coming weeks. November will fly by. I signed up to help promote your big day!! Wishing you much success and I can't wait to read Catalyst.

  14. Deep breaths and remember you can't do it all. I wish I didn't live on the other side of the state or I would come see you in Charlotte.

  15. I wouldn't mind time slowing down either, but that's because I love the fall and don't want it to go away anytime soon.

NC is too far away for me to visit, or I would. Why don't they have writers like you up in Michigan?
