My Book Baby Releases Today! And a Giveaway!

Today is the day! Catalyst officially releases into the world today, and I couldn't be happier! I want to thank all of you who signed up for my Book Blitz through Xpresso Book Tours. I really wanted to do a list of everyone participating and link it to your blog, but when I found out that I had over 115 people sign up, I didn't think it was possible! I will, however, do my best to visit all of the blogs throughout this week—thank you so much!!

Also, for those of you who may not follow me on social media, I have the BEST NEWS EVER! Barnes and Noble picked up Catalyst and will be stocking it on their shelves nationwide, coming in December!

Here's a look at the Catalyst book trailer for those who might have missed it before...

Welcome to the world, my beautiful book baby!

Catalyst
Kristin Smith
(The Deception Game, #1)
Published by: Clean Teen Publishing
Publication date: November 21st 2016
Genres: Dystopian, Young Adult

Book Synopsis:

Too pretty.
Too smart.
Too perfect.

In a crumbling, futuristic Las Vegas where the wealthy choose the characteristics of their children like ordering off a drive-thru menu, seventeen-year-old Sienna Preston doesn’t fit in. As a normal girl surrounded by genetically modified teenagers, all of her imperfections are on display. But after the death of her father, everything she’s ever known and loved changes in an instant.
With little skills to help provide for her family, Sienna clings to the two things that come easily—lying and stealing. But not all thief-for-hire assignments go as planned. When a covert exchange of a
stolen computer chip is intercepted, she becomes entangled with a corrupt government official who uses her thieving past as leverage, her mother as collateral, and the genetically modified poster boy she’s falling for as bait.
In order to rescue her mother, there may only be one option—joining forces with the Fringe, an extremist group, and their young leader who’s too hot to be bad. Problem is, these revolutionaries aren’t what they seem, and the secrets they’re hiding could be more dangerous than Sienna is prepared for. In the end, she must be willing to risk everything to save the one thing that matters most.

Catalyst is a thrilling adventure of danger, romance, intrigue, and deception.

**Look for Catalyst on the shelves of Barnes and Noble stores nationwide, coming in December!**

I have to thank my dear friend and critique partner, Leandra Wallace, for making me this next awesome graphic. It's perfect because Sienna, the main character in Catalyst, rides a Harley. I printed this graphic out, framed it, and I'm planning to use it Tuesday night at my Launch Party in Charlotte. Thank you, Leandra! :)

This Writer Mom & a Call for Help

In an attempt to shake things up a bit and mesh three things I love—writing, being a mother, and design, I decided to create these posts titled "This Writer Mom." Based on color and style, I will match pictures of "mothers" to their ideal writing (and perhaps lounging or dining location). It's a fun way to incorporate design elements into my blog while still maintaining a focus on writing.

For this mother, I incorporated a farmhouse style with blues and whites. Hope you enjoy!

And a special call for help from my dear friend and CP, Leandra Wallace, who recently posted this flyer on her blog.

CJ Omololu is currently battling stage 4 cancer and with the release of her new book, The Third Twin, only a month away, we want to spread the word about the book and author. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this news spread like wildfire throughout the blogosphere and we all showed our support during this truly difficult time for CJ? If you feel so inclined, please spread the word on your own blogs, and feel free to use the above flier. And if you want to really show your support, you can pre-order her book and have it shipped to you the day it releases, February 24th. I just pre-ordered my copy! Here's more info about CJ's novel...

When they were little, Lexi and her identical twin, Ava, made up a third sister, Alicia. If something broke? Alicia did it. Cookies got eaten? Alicia’s guilty. Alicia was always to blame for everything.

The game is all grown up now that the girls are seniors. They use Alicia as their cover to go out with boys who are hot but not exactly dating material. Boys they’d never, ever be with in real life.

Now one of the guys Alicia went out with has turned up dead, and Lexi wants to stop the game for good. As coincidences start piling up, Ava insists that if they follow the rules for being Alicia, everything will be fine. But when another boy is killed, the DNA evidence and surveillance photos point to only one suspect—Alicia. The girl who doesn’t exist.

As she runs from the cops, Lexi has to find the truth before another boy is murdered. Because either Ava is a killer . . . or Alicia is real.
