J is for Jokes and Humor

This month I'm participating in the A to Z blogging challenge and posting every day in April (except Sundays) with the corresponding letter of the day. The theme I chose for this year is 26 Days of Gratitude. I'll be posting about people, places, things, and events in my life I'm grateful for. Today is the letter...

I am thankful for jokes, laughter, and a sense of humor. Where would we be without these important aspects of life that help us relax a little and appreciate the world around us?

I love to laugh. I mean, I truly love to laugh. I enjoy being around people who make me laugh, and I love how I feel when I'm giddy from joking with friends, or laughing at something my husband said. Laughter IS the best medicine.

For me, Brian Regan is the King of Humor. I love that he is a clean comedian I would feel comfortable allowing my older boys to watch. He makes me laugh. Hard. I don't know if it's his goofy walk or funny expressions, but he is HI-larious! Take a peek and you'll see what I mean.

Do you love jokes, humor, and laughter? Who is your favorite comedian?

  1. Valet parking at the emergency room - funny!
Right now I'd have to list Jim Gaffigan as a favorite. And the core people on Whose Line is it Anyway.

  2. There are old episodes of favorite sitcoms that still make me and my husband laugh out loud. Love when that happens! :)

  3. Brian Regan is hilarious! I love stand-up comedy. It's going to be one of my letters, as well. That's one of our favorite nights out...to our local comedy club.

    1. Looking forward to reading your comedy post...I'm guessing it will be letter S for Stand-up Comedy? :) Although, I guess it could be L for Laughter...Hmm, guess I'm just have to wait and see! :)

  5. Yeah, we're fans. See, this is why I bounce between uplifting thoughts and funny posts. If I had my way, there'd be cheese and inspiration tied into one, but that may be going too far for most people.

  7. Hilarious! I love jokes too. It's what buddhist monks call small moments of enlightenment, and I couldn't agree more:)

  9. I like humour when I write (although one of my comic fantasy novels was picked apart by Publishers Weekly for having too many jokes in).

  11. My favorite people are those who have a good sense of humor. I love to laugh, too, and my kids tell me they can hear me laughing three rooms away through closed doors. Hmm...I guess I see no sense in holding back.

My favorite comedian is Tim Hawkins. I've seen him live, and we own all four of his DVDs. Each one is funnier than the previous one.

  12. Thanks for the laugh! It was fun. I've never really listened much to stand up comedians. I used to love the I Love Lucy show and Carol Burnett with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman. Some of their shows were absolutely hysterical.
