Happy Halloween!

Tonight is the night of spooks and goblins. Or in my kids case, teenage mutant ninja turtles and zombie doctors. It's HALLOWEEN!!

If you're like me, you LOVE Halloween—I mean, endless amounts of chocolate, what's not to love?!

And then there are the cute little kids who come a' knockin' at the door. Little girls dressed in Elsa and princess costumes, and little boy ninjas, superheroes, and anything remotely scary.

Of course, trick-or-treating is the highlight for my kids, who by the time Halloween rolls around have already been to 2 or 3 other trunk-or-treating events and gotten a mother-load of candy.

After the hours of trick-or-treating, we all arrive home with weary feet and bundles of candy which is quickly scattered on the living room floor as the boys begin "the trade."

Once they are all sugared up and bouncing off the walls, it's time for bed. Chocolate-stained fingers and lollipop-coated hair that desperately needs a bath will have to wait until morning. Because this mom is pooped, and her little kiddies too.

Have a happy Halloween! And save me your Reese's peanut butter cups—they're my favorite! :)

  1. My favorites are the specialty Reese's peanut butter cups - the pumpkins for now, the eggs for Easter, the trees for Christmas etc. :)

    1. Oh my goodness, yes! Those are the best. For some reason there seems to be more peanut butter in those! :)

  3. We're going to be a pirate, a dragon, and a rabbit this year. As much as I like the peanut butter cups, I'll trade them to you for KitKats and Twix! Happy Halloween!

  4. Have a good one! Hope the weather is nice there, it's in the 30s and windy here, so not a great night for trick-or-treating, yuck. And Reese's are yummy- I like Tootsie Rolls and anything sour.

    1. The weather was cool—perfect for a Halloween night. But then it started raining, and we booked it home. The kids had a great time, though. 30 degree weather sounds a bit too cold for my liking. Hope you guys had a fun night, too.

  5. Happy "Day After" Halloween. It was cold and rainy which sucked. I used to get 140 kids but it has been going down and I only got 30 last night. That last clip looks like it is from the silent movie "The Cat and The Canary"...I am purely guessing

  6. Nothing quite like subbing on Halloween. Lots of cats, Minnie Mouses, and tourists. And one kid in an Operation costume (just like the game).

  7. The candy dump! Best part of the night. So much excitement for the kids. Mine are older now, so the trick or treat days are older. My once trickers spent their evening handing out treats.

  8. I LOVED that part of Halloween. It was always so much fun. Having siblings is a plus because you can trade the candy you dislike for the candy you like. Ideally, you would love the candy your sibling(s) hated and vice versa!
